Slow Bid Sets City Water Line Pipe Contract
The city reviewed bids for the water line pipe project with U. S. Cast Iron Pipe and Foundry Company judged as the lowest bidder. Officials planned to inform the Mayor and Aldermen before awarding the contract. Nearby residents complained of noise from a station and disturbances from parked cars, prompting a promised investigation. Baker Park concert series were approved, to be held at the bandstand, with a reader, Dittmar, and a plan to widen Second Street and an alley near Klinehart’s property.
