Malpractice case goes to jury in Maryland physicians suit
Jury deliberations began in a multimillion dollar medical malpractice case involving two Frederick cardiologists Sherman Kahan and Jeffrey N Cowen. The suit alleges failure to properly treat James Richard Peyton a 97 year old stroke patient from Middletown. The doctors contend they provided adequate care noting the patient’s condition resulted from a rare infection and cultures took weeks to identify. Jurors must decide if negligence occurred and, if so, assess damages including about 33 600 in medical expenses and 1.4 to 1.7 million in lost earnings. Peyton is now 36 with a life expectancy of 39.2 years.

Man Ejected From Car In I-70 Crash Near Here
Washington County police report a single vehicle crash on I-70 injuring 21 year old Donald C. Myers Jr. of Clear Spring. His 1995 Geo Tracker veered into the median struck an embankment and overturned. Myers was ejected and later treated and released from Washington County Hospital.
