Local girl chosen for America's Youth in Concert tour
Karen Clark of Frederick will join the 1978 America's Youth in Concert touring group organized by Universal Academy For Music. A Governor Thomas Jonsson High School junior, she sings with the Concert Choir and has appeared in All County and All-State choruses. The program includes rehearsals at Rider College and performances from New York to Rome, with venues such as Carnegie Hall White House and Royal Albert Hall.

Sally Lynn Whisner of Frederick, daughter of Gay and Gay D. Whisner, has completed a Bachelor of Arts in special education at Hood College. A Hood swim team member, she previously graduated Governor Thomas Johnson High School. The Interior Department funds 5 million dollars to convert over 73 miles of abandoned railroad rights of way to bike trails across Arkansas, California, Missouri, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Virginia.
