Missing Frederick couple found after night afloat
Yesterday an all morning search by firemen and volunteers for Mr and Mrs Roy R Soper of Frederick missing in the Potomac River was called off after no trace. The Sop ers walked into Seneca unhurt around 1 pm saying their rented boat from Hilda Meeks of Seneca fouled on rocks at Seneca Falls and they spent the night aboard. They reached shore two or three miles below Seneca and walked back to town. Voters were at the polls to decide Frederick mayor and aldermen with proposed salaries of 3000 and 600 respectively. Developers filed court actions challenging Frederick County Planning Commission authority to disapprove subdivision preliminaries in areas with no prior subdivisions, sparked by three disapproved applications. The Board of Aldermen continued hearings on expanding Frederick's historic district to allow public input. Karen Williams, Vickie Turner, Susan Dorsey, Velvet Beard and Tammy Hamilton of Tom's Dance Studios rehearsed for Showtime 76 at Gov Thomas Johnson High School to benefit the Frederick County Association of Children with Learning Disabilities.

A fragmented letters page presents garbled text with scattered names and terms. It hints at local figures and places but readable content is minimal, offering a sense of a community discussion thread rather than a cohesive argument or clear event.
