Children rally to save statue from global fund drive
From Alaska to Turkey children raise funds through petunias, cap corn and sweatshirts to help restore the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. The effort, led by the Statue of Liberty Ellis Island Centennial Commission, aims to complete a $230 million project by the 1986 centennial, with thousands of schools and students contributing.
