Pepco Announces Summer Rates Begin This Month
Potomac Electric Power Co. says summer electricity rates take effect with June bills and last through October. The higher kilowatt hour charges reflect seasonal demand and the need to run all generating units, including coal and oil-fired plants, to meet peak summer use. Consumers, especially those with air conditioning, can expect higher bills.
