County planners OK site plan for FCNB headquarters
Frederick County Planning Commission approved a site plan for a new FCNB Bank headquarters on nearly 15 acres west of I-270 along Crestwood Boulevard. Government buys Keller farm for South Mountain preserve
The state and federal governments will pay heirs of Charles Keller more than 640000 to acquire his 142 acre Mount Tabor farm and a nearby 16 acre wood lot as part of a South Mountain Battlefield preservation. The 1840s house served as a field hospital in 1862 and was visited by future president William McKinley. The deal includes a conservation easement keeping the land farming only and protecting the house.
