Green Valley residents seek plans for parks and schools
Frederick County residents pressed officials about when new schools parks and libraries will be built in Green Valley. Four new schools are planned between 1990 and 1994 with a Ballenger Creek middle school due in 1990 and another in 1984 with 900 seats. A high school site is sought for the southern county and an elementary school in Mount Airy is planned for 1993. Residents urged parkland funding options and volunteer involvement to avoid paid management, while a pool on school land was deemed unlikely.
