Salvation Army Dedication Marks Frederick Addition Opening
About two hundred people attended the cornerstone laying and dedication of the new addition to the Salvation Army building on West Fifth street in Frederick. Delays kept Col. G A Stephans from Atlanta from delivering the dedicatory address. The ceremony honored local leaders and raised $50,000 for the project, with an open house to follow after furnishing and improvements are completed. Also noted was the NCAA District 3 Baseball Tournament final between Florida and Clemson in Gastonia, with the winner advancing to the College World Series.
