Merger of Reformed Church and Evangelical Synod to be marked
A special observance marks the June 27 merger of the Reformed Church of the United States and the Evangelical Synod of North America. The Potomac Synod session at Hood College opens June 11 with talks by Rev. Dr. Jacob Leonard and Rev. Dr. George W. Richards on union prospects. merger will occur in Cleveland. The combined church plans a baptized membership near one million and includes 302 congregations and over 200 ministers in the Potomac district. Election of synod officers follows Monday night session.
