New York June 9 Colonel Theodore Roosevelt declares he will not be a presidential candidate in 1912. He calls any nomination a calamity and asks friends to block movement toward his candidacy. A Vermont dispatch quoted him emphatically denying the idea. He adds no further statements on the subject.
