Frederick County Schools vote on support staff unionization

Support employees of the Frederick County public school system will vote today on forming a union. The election covers 1,330 non supervisory staff including cafeteria workers secretaries bus drivers and custodians. The board already recognized 30 supervisory staff as unionized after a petition from half of them. Only 30 percent of non supervisors signed the petition, triggering a formal election under state law.

Orchard Grove elementary attendance area recommendations heard

Superintendent Daniel Gadra presented to the Frederick County Board of Education his plan for Orchard Grove Elementary School's attendance area.
