Regional Angus breeders enter Eastern Regional Show in Rhinebeck NY
Six local junior Angus breeders join 112 youths from across the region to exhibit 226 head at the Eastern Regional Junior Angus Show at Duchess County Fairgrounds Rhinebeck NY June 19 20. Ray Apple of Crestwood KY will judge divisions for bred and owned heifers and bulls and related categories. Beginning riding lessons start mid June at Wilson College Equestrian Center offering 12 week sessions for ages 11 up and adults plus advanced options. Schooling Shows Set at Father's Farewell Farm Thurmont
Father’s Farewell will hold a summer series of schooling shows at its Thurmont farm. The events occur Saturdays June 19 July 17 and Sept 25 with jumping and other classes for beginning riders of all ages and starting horses. Food will be available. For more information call 694-9566.

Guyton finalist for Outstanding Guernsey Youth Award at AGA meeting
Stacey Guyton of Jefferson competes as one of five finalists for the Outstanding Guernsey Youth Award to be presented at the American Guernsey Association Annual Meeting in Dubuque Iowa. She will relinquish the National Guernsey Queen title and returns as Virginia Tech Dairy Princess, a Virginia Tech animal science major and former Maryland Dairy Princess and member of the national champion dairy judging team.

Maryland FFA judging teams win state honors
Six Maryland FFA judging contests at the University of Maryland produced state champions from Clear Spring Walkersville and Singapore with crops nursery and landscape and vegetable, plus two from Singapore in agricultural mechanics and floriculture. Frederick FFA earned four seconds with Bruns wick and Boonsboro also placing second. individual winners included Julie Shenberger and others from Clear Spring and neighboring schools.
