Mutiny on freighter linked to Chinese smuggling crewed by crime boss
New York prosecutors charge a captain, 10 crew, and Kin Sin Lee in a mutiny on a rusty freighter carrying nearly 300 Chinese immigrants. The ship ran aground near shore, eight died, six hospitalized, and detainees await hearings. Lee, allegedly the smuggler’s liaison, faced the only non crew charge. The case centers on a China crime boss and links to Ah Kay. Defendants held for June 21 court date.

Milky Way Bigger Than Believed Dark matter halo swallows neighbor galaxy
Berkeley astronomers report the Milky Way is at least six hundred thousand to eight hundred thousand light years wide with a massive unseen halo of dark matter. Using motion of the Large Magellanic Cloud they estimate the galaxy is five to 13 times wider and five to 10 times heavier than its visible part, implying the halo captures material from the LMC every 2.5 billion years.
