Fire alarm plan changes urged by city firemen
Committees from four city fire companies met in the Board of Aldermen room to urge changes. They fault the central station system at Police Headquarters as slow and error prone and propose four city zones with alarms sent by telephone operator. They also recommend motorist curbs, identified fire vehicles, local fire police, and zone based dispatch to prevent overuse of all companies on small fires.
