Remarkable Hunter in Pennsylvania Builds Hidden Cabin
Frederick Thomas, a hermit living on the Gettysburg battlefield, is described as the most primitive hunter and skilled marksman in Pennsylvania. He survives largely on birds and rabbits shot with a bow and arrow, rarely missing a shot. After his wife’s death he withdrew from society, moving to a woodland plot near Gettysburg. He first lived in a nine hole of ground and a cave, then, three years ago, built a one story log cabin entirely on his own.
