New Market Democrats Gear Up For Campaign
The New Market Democratic Central Committee met to plan for the upcoming elections in Frederick County. Chairman Frank Gladhill said the district would benefit from added commissioners and a new House of Delegates district with no incumbents. Local residents were urged to run for commissioner and delegate and to organize voter registration as the district draws residents from Montgomery County and Mt Airy. Voter totals show Democrats ahead in registration since 1960, with 1,251 Democrats to 766 Republicans.

A 21 year old South Market Street man Robert Winpigler was arrested after midnight for indecent exposure at the Square Corner near Underground. He allegedly walked north on South Market Street without clothes wearing only a hat. Ronald Spangler, 25, of West Patrick Street, was jailed around 1 a.m. at the Francis Scott Key Hotel on drunk and disorderly charges after running up a $10.50 bar bill.

Annexation Request To Go To Planners For Odd Fellows Parcel
