Witness Anderson outlined possible removal of sugar restrictions for households if Cuba and other sources provide enough supply. He noted home canning needs and suggested using any excess above 35 pounds per capita for canning rather than across the board. If supplies lag, a new stamp could channel sugar to households.
Three persons were injured in two early morning crashes on Route 340 near Petersville and Route 26 near Ceresville. Kenneth P Tinney escaped with brush burns after his car struck a concrete culvert. he was treated at Frederick Memorial Hospital. In the Ceresville crash, Bart Kiltsville and Hugh C Holland were hospitalized with lacerations and other injuries. several passengers were shaken but not hospitalized. Damage estimates run around 200 dollars per vehicle.
Police reported two infant girls battered to death in the Massillon pediatrics nursery last night. Names given include Rosemary Arcron and Diane J. Brand as infants of local families.
