A Frederick County list of graduates from the University of Maryland College Park describes numerous area students receiving degrees during today’s commencement. Honorary doctor of laws will be conferred on Hubert H. Humphrey by University President Wilson H. Elkins, with Humphrey as principal speaker.
The Evangelical Reformed United Church of Christ on West Church Street will dedicate its outdoor chapel on June 13 at 6 30 pm. Youth Fellowship members led by Richard E Best planned the project begun after a December 1963 groundbreaking. The ceremony includes confirmations and class reunions with a dogwood cross and rustic fencing shaping the open-air chapel. The space will host weddings, Sunday School, and vesper services when weather allows.
Miss Lindsay Anne McGuinness, daughter of Mr and Mrs Edward J McGuinness of Grove Boulevard, is a candidate for a bachelor of arts degree at the University of Denver, with education as her major and sociology as her minor. She plans to teach and is a member of Alpha Gamma Delta Sorority. A Frederick High School graduate of 1961, she attended Marjorie Webster Junior College in Washington and earned the associate of arts degree in June 1963.
