The remains of Arthur Hobbs and his ten year old daughter Linda Lou were found amid embers after a fire at their one story home near Marriottsville Carroll County early today The mother Lillian was in critical condition at University Hospital Baltimore with severe burns State Police say Hobbs had been pouring kerosene into a wood stove when it exploded Fire departments from Sykesville and Liberty Road responded The victims were taken to Haight and Weer funeral home in Sykesville Also injured were three other children and Mrs Hobbs two daughters and a son reside in nearby areas

Eisenhower backs ban on testing if disarmament assured

President Eisenhower said he favors a complete ban on atomic weapon tests if a global disarmament agreement is reached with Russia. Dr. A. M. Gluck Dies at 80 After Long Ministry

Dr. Aaron Manns Gluck, prominent Evangelical and Reformed Church minister, died at age 80 in Martinsburg West Virginia. He served 9 years in Emmitsburg Maryland and 32 years at Christ Church in Martinsburg and held leadership posts in the Potomac Synod Virginia Classis and church boards in Littlestown and Massachusetts Military Academy. Injured Knoxville Man Is Hospitalized

Morgan R. Webber of Knoxville was admitted to Frederick Memorial Hospital after an auto crash on Route 17 south of Burkittsville. The wreck occurred shortly after 3 a.m. when Webber apparently fell asleep entering a curve and struck a tree. He received treatment for possible internal injuries and a lacerated head as Trooper Robert T. Storer investigated.
