Dear Miss Dix advice on a sneaky drinker husband
A long letter from a wife of sixteen years describes a husband who drinks four nights weekly and hides it from neighbors. The adviser suggests addressing loneliness, inviting company, and sharing time to curb drinking, urging the wife to avoid accepting a “week character” behavior and to push for a return to normal home life. The column also covers a young woman’s fiancé who won’t commit and a mother seeking guidance on gifts after engagement ended.
