Prizes and awards were announced at Hood College moving up exercises in Brodbeck Hall. Acting Dean Dorothy S. Morrill announced honors presented by President Henry d Stahr. Emily Ruth Myers won a five dollar prize for Size Twelve, with Mary Elizabeth Carter and Leah Rosenblatt among honorees. The George Pearson Prize in Biblical Literature of twenty five dollars was shared by Helan Enany and Lillian Muller.

Ten Die In Army Station Blast And Fire Near Stockton
Ten persons died when a blast and fire struck an Army camp building near Stockton California just before midnight. Five of those injured were listed in critical condition and four in serious condition.
