Disabled Montgomery officer waits six months for board ruling
The wife of 40 year old Montgomery County police Cpl. Richard Lockitsky complained that the Disability Retirement Board took six months to hear his case. He used all his leave time and will soon be without income while rehabilitation continues. He was injured on duty in July 1974 after a dump truck struck him from behind, sustaining a broken pelvis and other injuries. He was deemed 20 percent permanently partially disabled and is under psychiatric care after hospitalization. The couple, who run a Germantown cassette rental business, say his doctors advise against returning to the department.
