Troopers embrace 12 hour shift pilot program
Maryland troopers may gain more home time under a six month trial of 12 hour shifts starting July 1 at the aviation divisions in Frederick Baltimore and Salisbury. The plan, proposed by National Flight Paramedics Association Maryland Chapter, aims for three 12 hour days then days off with possible expansion to a bar rack and full service barrack. Passers-by foil abduction attempt near Mount Airy
A 14-year-old girl was grabbed from behind on the ramp from westbound I-70 to Md. 27 at about 5:55 p.m. Thursday. Three bystanders intervened as the assailant forced her across the ramp. she fell, and the suspect fled into nearby woods. Police describe him as white, 6 feet tall with light brown hair, teal shirt and tan pants.
