Frederick Citizens Protest Act of 1807 Resolutions
Frederick citizens condemn British action of 1807 and vow to support government with lives and fortunes for redress. They approve Norfolk, Portsmouth, and Hampton measures, send copies to the U S President and Maryland governor, and distribute the resolutions to town printers. The meeting was led by John Tyler and signed by Ceorge Baer Jr. The text shifts to fashion notes on straight coats and trade strikes affecting Spain's bullfights.

State's worst flood does no local damage continues page 1
The recent downpour barely harmed Buckeystown and surrounding towns though streams rose near Emmitsburg and Middletown. The Patapsco River caused major damage near Ellicott City, with bridges washed away and lights out as floodwaters surged through Frederick County. Upstream, Sykesville and Westminster saw washed bridges, flooded roads, and a Woodbine cloudburst. Washington County endured high waters, rail washouts near Williamsport, and four foot floods on National Highway near Hagerstown. Farmers moved cattle to higher ground as waters rose highest since 1879 in the area.
