Red Cross names Volunteer of the Year in Frederick County

Man dies from meningitis exposure prompts drug aid
Frederick man Randy Doller, 25, died from meningitis on Wednesday. About a dozen people he may have exposed through shared drinks or smoking received the preventive drug Ruampin from the health department at no charge. Officials warn symptoms include headache fever and stiff neck. The disease is caused by a germ and is not usually fatal depending on the person's health.
