Jury trial considered for largest county consumer case
ROCKVILLE The 6th Judicial Circuit Court heard arguments over whether Montgomery County can prosecute Astro Chevrolet for 13 counts under the county consumer protection act. Attorneys dispute preemption by state law and flag a potential jury trial if the court allows punitive damages and compels production of records. Judge Sanders will rule next week on jurisdiction before confirmation of a jury trial.
