Frederick County 4-H Debuts Its Own Patch Designed by Bill Kemp
Frederick County 4-H members now have a county patch designed by Bill Kemp. The design was chosen from more than 100 entries with judges from Area 4-H leading the contest. The patch will appear on magnetic signs via Lesco Plastics and on felt patches from Jeanne Bussard Training Workshop. Kemp, a Ballenger Boys 4-H Club member and seven year 4-H veteran, has held club and county council offices while pursuing gardening agriculture poultry small engines and field crops. He received a $15 check and a 4-H nylon jacket from Dan Braucher. Frederick County is the first in the state to issue a county 4-H patch.

The annual 4-H camping program held at Hope Valley Camp ran two weeks plus one weekend and served 170 participants including members leaders parents and younger pre 4-H attendees. Activities ranged from swimming arts crafts electricity ceramics hikes and first aid to Indian Lore with a water carnival talent show record hop and campfires.
