Rockefeller Dances With Political Bridges In New York
CHICAGO AP Gov Nelson Rockefeller hinted at an uncertain political future on Friday. He did not rule out running for re election as New York governor or accepting a cabinet post if Nixon wins the presidency. He stressed he would not pursue deals and his immediate aim is to carry New York for the GOP in November. He reflected on his role at the GOP convention and noted he withheld endorsement of Nixon until the last moment. He praised Nixon’s grasp of issues and said reports he dislikes Nixon personally are untrue. He also explained a slip when he called Nixon Richard E Nixon instead of Richard M Nixon, attributing it to a momentary lapse.

Two Doctors Lose Licenses in Maryland Board Action
AP reports the Maryland Board of Medical Examiners revoked the licenses of two physicians. Dr Webster Sewell of Norbeck, who pleaded no contest to criminal abortion, and Dr Jacob J Greenwald of Elton, sentenced to three years for conspiring to violate marriage laws with false pregnancy certificates for a minor. Both claimed innocence or lack of intent, but the board ruled revocation mandatory based on convictions. Sewell served about four months of a year sentence. Greenwald admitted fault for issuing certificates without proper examinations. Prosecutors described the activity as a marriage mill operation enabling underage marriages.
