Quarrel over a Muse ends in forged ink and forgiveness
In 1730 at Nokes Hall, disowned George Bucktrout confronts his father over a verse addressed to a Muse named Calliope in a clash of pride and affection. The squire, enraged, disowns him but the parson intervenes, urging forgiveness as the two men reconcile in a dramatic church scene.
