They Were Repulse and Three Moros Slain at Matalung
A party of engineers under Lieutenant Brows encamped at Matalung river was attacked by Moros at midnight Friday. the assault was repulsed with three Moros killed. Native reports say the Sultan of Naull fed the attack, thinking the camp undefended. Other reports mention a cyclone at Camp Vicars, property losses, and villagers’ destruction.
