World on Wheels at Nelson Ledges SCCA National race
The fifth Quaker State SCCA National at Nelson Ledges Road Course near Warren Ohio featured 9 races with notable scenes. Paul Newman struggled with mechanical issues in his TR-6 and Datsun while Brian Fuerstaneau seized a Group 44 MGB win in E production amid gear trouble. Bob Leitzinger crashed his Datsun 210 after hitting an oil slick, and Bob Tullius won in the E type Jaguar, with Tullius and Fuerstaneau sharing victories for Group 44. No injuries were reported despite spins and accidents.
