Prather Named Maryland Health Director in Maryland
The Maryland State Board of Health announced the appointment of Dr. Perry Franklin Prather as Maryland Director of Health, succeeding Dr. Robert H. Riley who resigns effective January 1. Governor McKeldin approved the appointment. Prather’s career spans private practice, venereal disease work, and public health leadership in Washington County and Baltimore. The note adds a brief aside on the seahorse, described as the only fish with a grasping tail.
