Becker to face electric chair after court denial
New York July 29 Charles Becker's bid for a new trial over newly discovered evidence was denied by Supreme Court Justice Ford. The ruling ends any chance for clemency unless new evidence passes the test, with District Attorney Perkins and Ford upholding the findings. Becker's statements about his meeting with Tim Sullivan are deemed not newly discovered, and attacks on informers are considered cumulative.
