Penny Campaign Boosts Red Cross Fundraising Efforts
The Red Cross aims for a 30000 goal by September with 347 raised so far. Volunteers distributed 2000 plastic bags on June 24 asking residents to fill them with change and return. Executive Director Leah Crace urged the community to contribute, noting a cut in United Way funding and the need to raise funds for services and emergencies. Households reportedly hold about four dollars in loose change, potentially yielding thousands for the chapter.
