An eight year old Jefferson girl Nancy Louise Brubaker suffered facial lacerations and shock after a collision on Broad Run Road near Route 340. Youth Motorcycle Crash Near Mt Airy Leaves Rider Severely Hurt
A Gaithersburg man on a Harley collided with a sedan on Route 27 a mile and a half north of Mt Airy. The rider, Arnold, suffered a fractured skull and severe leg injuries, listed as uncertain in condition. Passenger Bolton had facial and hand lacerations and was treated for injuries. The sedan driver Mumford, 71, Westminster, faced charges of failing to stop, DUI, and reckless driving. Two others in the first crash sustained minor injuries. A second pursuit occurred after the collision, with Mumford captured two miles from the scene. Hearing set for August 15.
