A Country Strike Hits George's Creek Mines and Railroads
The present strike disrupted the George's Creek mining area halting nearly 1400 in wages and reducing tonnage by about 1.5 million tons. About 65 percent of the loss would have been moved by the Baltimore and Ohio line and 35 percent by the Pennsylvania line, totaling an estimated $2.33 million in lost railroad revenue.
