Extraordinary Atmospheric Specter of the Brocken
The St. Louis Republic explains a Brocken mirage known as the Specter of the Brocken seen only atop the Hartz Mountains. Observed from a nearby platform, a shadowy giant follows visitors’ motions against the eastern sky before sunset, created by a dense eastern haze that reflects shadows onto a distant atmospheric wall. Experimental echoes include London fog shadow photography and a red-hot poker illusion.

The Sunday School Lesson on Apollos in Ephesus
An analysis of Paul's third missionary journey through Galatia and Phrygia, his stop at Ephesus with Aquila and Priscilla, and Apollos the Alexandrian. The text discusses baptism, receiving the Holy Ghost, and the spread of Christian teaching in Asia. It emphasizes guidance by the Spirit, the role of teachers, and the differences between John's baptism and Christian baptism. It notes that the gospel spread for two years in Asia, with Paul supporting believers and correcting misunderstandings about Spirit reception.
