Taneytown man kept in jail without bond in murder case
John W. Holt Jr. 38 of Taneytown remains incarcerated without bond after a Friday bond review before Judge Mary Ann Stepler. Holt faces first and second degree murder charges plus related felonies for the July 5 Emmitsburg shooting death of 32-year-old Robert Stream. The hearing featured witnesses from Holt’s family and employers, but the judge declined bond, citing his lack of reality about the case. a separate matter saw bond set at 160000 for a Brunswick man on sexual offense charges involving his mentally disabled daughter.
