Watershed tour teaches homeowners how to protect resources
About 20 Freder ick County residents joined the annual Were All in the Watershed Tour sponsored by the Monocaty Water Quality Demonstration Project. The event, led by conservationist Elmer Dengler, showcased practices on farms and in neighborhoods to safeguard water quality and soil health. Participants learned erosion control, reduced fertilizer use, and proper well and septic maintenance through site visits at Brookfield Farms, Dearbought development, Walkersville Church, and other locales.
