Elevator disaster at Clauson Price brew ery claims three lives

In New York a drum shaft failed at Clauson Price brewery on One Hundred and Ninetieth Street and Eleventh Avenue, dropping a loaded freight elevator five stories. Three men died Louis Boes Bernard Schneider Anthony Karl and two others were injured Henry Hornebier and Williams Embeck. Six workers loaded 100 pound sacks of meal on a central 10x10 elevator. The platform rested on two heavy beams. the accident occurred when the elevator rose and the beams crushed. No safety notices were posted on floors. In Asbury Park a mangled body was identified as Theodore Sechliszer of New York from the Nicol disaster.
