Temporary Jug Bridge Opens At Six O'clock
The temporary Jug Bridge over the Monocacy river will open to traffic at six this evening restoring east of the city access for the first time since the old span collapsed. Weight limits are set at 30 000 pounds for two axle trucks and 36 000 pounds for three axle semi trailers with a 10 mile per hour speed limit. The bridge, about 300 feet long and wooden, will serve until a permanent bridge is completed downstream expected within a year.
