Hornsby set for Cincinnati atop managerial post
The Rogers Hornsby saga grows with reports he will become Cincinnati manager next spring succeeding Charley Dressen. Dressen would move to New York to manage the Giants in 1939 after serving as Bill Terry’s coach and chief assistant. If Hornsby lands in Cincinnati, Warren Giles would again link with him, and Hornsby’s talent appraisal is highly regarded by Giles, a former Cardinal executive.
