Army Air Service sets world long distance flight record
A bombing plane on the first leg of an around the country flight starts at Bolling Field Washington at 10 am for a nearly eight thousand mile route. The mission aims to circle thirty one states and cover Atlantic Pacific Gulf coasts and the Canadian border. The voyage marks the longest nonstop journey by the Army Air Service and includes 2000 armed soldiers and broad public support to keep traffic light.
