Mrs Jane Rice Jones Dies After Long Illness
Mrs. Jane Rice Jones died at 7:30 this morning at her apartment 17 East Second Street after a long illness. Born June 28, 1892, she was the youngest daughter of the late Thomas P. and Lilian St and was the last surviving immediate family member. She belonged to the Evangelical Reformed Church and held leadership roles in various historical and patriotic groups. Funeral arrangements were announced with services at the Conrad Funeral Home on N Ket Street and interment to follow at a local cemetery. she is survived by two uncles and several cousins.

Funeral services were held for Wilbur W. Herbert 19 and John R. Mullin 25 of Clearspring who died after a bolt struck while they stood in an open doorway of a barn with five others during a Saturday harvest storm. The barn burned. several others were stunned. Herbert’s survivors include a wife, a son, parents, and siblings. Mullin’s funeral followed at the same church. Both services were led by Rev. J Wade Huffman. Interment was in Clearspring.
