City approves new FOP retirement pact in Frederick

Frederick officials and the Frederick City Police FOP voted unanimously on a new retirement agreement after a year of negotiations. The plan lowers eligibility to 22 years of service, goes into effect January 1, 1995, and costs about 100000 in six months with city and officer contributions. The deal aims to attract qualified officers from nearby counties and will be renegotiated next year when the contract expires.
