British Seamen Arrive For Md Farms Visit Baltimore
The second contingent of British seamen arriving in Baltimore after a delayed voyage from Norfolk spent a day at sea when their transport steamer blew a cylinder head and lay in the bay. They viewed it as part of the experience, led by Chief Petty Officer R. G. Howard. Seventeen sailors were assigned to farms near Towson, Pikesville, Phoenix and Sykesville, with others joining former crews who were popular with Maryland farmers. The Allied Corner Committee arranged the placements.

Palmer, 73, recently returned to active duty after a 1926 retirement, holds a storied World War I record and noted the need to reassess world strategy with the air service's rise.
