Two people are dead after a head on crash on the New Jersey Rapid Transit trolley line in Ridgewood. The victims include John Hutchinson the motorman and F J Pilgrim the transit superintendent who was reportedly attempting to take a party of children from Paterson to a location near Glen Rock. The accident occurred on a sharp curve hidden by brush and the speeding car collided with another train car, causing the cars to telescope.

Penrose On Stand In Lorimer Inquiry And Albany Copy Fee

Mine workers receive 28 million from sliding scale

Philadelphia July 12 The sum of 28 293 442 has been received by the anthracite mine workers as a result of the sliding scale established by the strike commission appointed by President Roosevelt in 1902. This is in addition to the general 10 per cent wage increase granted. It is due to automatic advances in pay from rises in the tidewater coal price above 450 a ton. Output since the scale began totals 544 104 670 tons.
