Teens Make Up Large Share Of Missing Persons Reports
Frederick County reports show teens form a large part of missing person cases and usually return within days. Police note June spikes when high school ends and youths travel with friends, while most disappearances involve runaways or parental abductions and a small share are stranger abductions. A Brunswick case saw a local teen traced from a publicized photograph to a Baltimore residence. Police say investigations focus on reasons for running away and potential abuse, with rapid return often.
