Rally in ninth falls short by Frederick Keys at Harry Grove Stadium
Frederick almost pulled off a miracle comeback against Martie Beach Monday. Down by six runs in the bottom of the ninth, the Pelicans scored four to tie with runners at first and second and one out, but reliever Evan Greene induced a force at second and a groundout to end the threat as the Pelicans lost 7-5. Keys manager Andy Etchebarren praised the rally but noted Frederick’s last game at Frederck this year. Myrtle Beach leads 8-2 against the Keys at Harry Grove Stadium. Frederick is 6-0 at Myrtle Beach.
